The problem is not with the translation.Here is how I'd explain it. Translation: drinkers saved money, as have seen in the beautiful eyes Original: sharabiyaan de paise bach gayi, oh sohni akhaan vich akhaan pa ke takiya Here is an example from "Gul nalon ishq main tha" The more culturally disparate the original and the translated languages are, the worse it sounds. Most poetry falls flat after translation more due to cultural differences rather than language differences.
